Who We Are

Our building dates back to 1923, prior to LA’s freeways being constructed.

LOFT 1923 is the entire top floor of that stand-alone two story building, 4,144 SQ FT of beautiful natural light. It’s available to rent for photoshoots, video productions, and events. We are at the end of an industrial cul-de-sac in the warehouse district of Downtown Los Angeles, adjacent to the 10 FWY.

Look familiar? It’s been a variety of different businesses throughout the years, including a furniture manufacturer, boxing gym, and production space.

November 2019 saw the re-imagining of the space by LOFT 1923’s owner and photographer Emily Sandifer. Emily was the original co-founder of the studio back in 2016, before taking over as sole-owner and rebranding. She is also available for in-house stills + motion production.

COVID-19 & Safety:

All renters are expected to do their part alongside LOFT 1923 to insure safety for their attendees.

Any attendee showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to leave. Temperature checks can be provided at the entrance.

All shared surfaces are disinfected prior, during, and after each shoot.

Private entrance. We are one studio, not a building split into many studios. This reduces the risk of cross-contamination, etc.

All attendees release LOFT 1923 of liability and enter at their own risk. Productions should have their own COIs to cover their risk. While LOFT 1923 does everything within its power to keep the space a safe environment, it should be understood it’s a group effort as well.
